Acne Therapy

A.  Acne Formation          

Common acne, or acne vulgaris, is caused when oil produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin is trapped in pores. The P. acnes bacteria thrive in this trapped oil, and the pore then becomes inflamed and turns into a pimple. A pimple may then develop into a whitehead or blackhead.

B. Why AFT Can do Acne Therapy?            

AFT with 420-950nm (Blue Light) wavelength can penetrate to the place which P. acnes bacteria stay. Please check the Figure 1. Blue light therapy acne treatment becomes available for use on a wide basis by dermatologists and others. The acne blue light therapy works by killing the P. acnes bacteria. The light may either be used alone or in conjunction with a topical treatment. The acne blue light treatment has been shown to be effective in treating active acne lesions as well as other sebaceous glands that are not actively producing acne lesions.

Pigmentation

A. Pigmentation Formation        

 Pigmentation is a skin condition that affects many people across all ages and ethnicities. The appearance and formation of pigmentation is commonly associated with pregnancy, but it can affect anybody - at any time. Although the causes of pigmentation per individual aren't always known, use of contraceptives, excessive sun exposure, genetic inheritance and poor nutrition are some of the reasons why these dark patches and blemishes form on the surface of the skin.

B. Why AFT can do pigmentation Therapy?      

As we know, there are many types pigmentations, which can be divided into “Spot pigmentation” and “Lump pigmentation” according to their shape.     

Spot pigmentation: Freckles, Sun-spots and Aging Spots, which arrays in basal cell layer in Epidermis.      Lump Pigmentation: stretch Mark, Spider spot and chloasma, Which arrays in Dermal layer mostly.

“Spot Pigmentation”: Make full use of selective absorption of light, the irradiated pigment particles will be absorbed selectively from the light energy, be heated and crack into small particles, then metabolized by metabolism.

Skin Rejuvenation

A. Aging Formation

Collagen and elastin are proteins that work closely together to form your skin's structure. However, collagen is the largest component of your dermis, accounting for 80 percent of its dry weight, states the American Academy of Dermatology. The intrinsic aging process, as well as extrinsic factors, such as sun exposure, reduce your skin's ability to produce collagen. 

Elastin         

 The primary difference between collagen and elastin is that the latter protein gives your skin its resilience and spring, allowing it to return to its original state after you make a certain facial expression. Elastin is found in other parts of your body, such as your lungs, heart, liver and Achille's tendon, says the AAD. Time and environmental factors can also impair your skin's ability to renew and repair elastin. Reduced amounts of elastin also mean wrinkles on your face, as well as sagging, says the Cleveland Clinic.

       Hair Removal is more and more popular in the world, and there are also many methods to do hair removal, such as Waxing, Shaving and Chemical etc. However, only the AFT treatment is the most safe and effective choice. A. How does AFT remove hair?        

 Light-based hair removal is based on the theory of selective photothermolysis in which optical energy is used to disable hair growth. In order to achieve such thermal effect the hair shaft needs to selectively absorb light energy and transform it into heat. This selectivity is achieved when optical energy that is delivered to the tissue is mostly absorbed by hair shaft pigment, while the skin and the surrounding tissue stays cool.        

Melanin is the pigment in the hair shaft that is responsible for the absorption of the light, which generates the heat that eventually disables hair growth. Therefore the more melanin present in the hair (i.e. the darker the hair) the more light that can be absorbed and the mor effective light can be at removing hair.

B. How does the hair growth cycle impact AFT hair removal?        

 Every hair in our body goes through the three phases of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. These phases have important impaction how the process of AFT hair removal works. Anagen is the hair growth phase while Catagen and Telogen, both are resting phases. The time it takes to complete a full hair growth cycle varies from person to person and the location of the hair on the body, but is typically 28 days.        At any given moment the majority of the hair follicles in any skin area are in the resting phases. These resting hairs cannot be affected by AFT. However, hairs in the growing Anagen phase will respond to AFT applications. It is important to understand that it may take a full hair growth cycle to realize complete hair removal results with AFT. So Usually three times treatment can see the obvious result.
